Craftsmanship is the future: not searching, but creating jobs
The egg of Columbus for the development of Italy is craftsmanship. Not only it is a great resource, but it is also a fulfilling life choice that needs to be valued.
Not surprisingly in the US, which is by definition the innovating country, the “makers” movement (people that produce on their own) is growing. Stefano Micelli, economics Professor at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, talked about this phenomenon in an interview on the online newspaper Linkiesta; he is also the author of a book titled “Futuro Artigiano”. Micelli likes to quote the fictional Harvard dean of the movie “The Social Network” who said “(…) undergraduates believe that inventing a job is better than finding a job”.
