LOCATION

This year Open Design Italia 2016 will be hosted in the prestigious Palladian Basilica, in the historic center in Vicenza.

The Palladian Basilica in Vicenza needs little introduction, being a world-famous building. It is one of finest works of the architect Andrea Palladio and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. The famous loggias in the city center have hosted prestigious exhibitions with the works of the best international artists, designers and architects.

Vicenza is known as “the city of Palladio”, yet its many artistic and architectural gems are not all Renaissance. The city, in the heart of Italy’s North East, is easy to reach by train and is well connected to the northern Italian highways network. The nearest airports, both for scheduled and low cost airlines, are Verona Villafranca, Treviso S. Angelo, and Venezia Tessera.
